JEFFERSON, Wis. -- The Jefferson County Land and Water Conservation Department is participating in the Conservation Awareness Poster Contest! This contest is open to any Jefferson County student in grades K-12. Age divisions are by grade levels: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
The 2027 contest theme is “From Source to Sea. Every Drop Has a Journey.” You will find helpful links below for creative ideas. Contact Jefferson County LWCD to obtain entry forms and instructions.

Posters are due to the Jefferson County Land and Water Conservation Department by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2027 at the Jefferson County Courthouse (311 S Center Ave., Room C1050, Jefferson). We are happy to collect posters from your school if requested. Please contact us no later than January 5, 2027 to schedule poster pickup if possible.
The Jefferson County contest to select first, second, and third place in each age division will be held on January 20, 2027. The top three winners in each age division will receive a free ticket to the July 2027 Jefferson County Fair and the opportunity to display their poster at the Fair. In addition, the LWCD will post the top three winners from each division on the Jefferson County Facebook page.
The first-place posters in each age division will be entered into the Southern Area Contest. The winning posters go on to the State Contest at the WI Land+Water Annual Conference in March 2027 and then on to the National Contest if chosen. Students are not required to be present for poster judging.
